I have never been a huge proponent of New Year’s…setting up a plan to have an amazing night just seems a bit risky , which usually led to some form of disappointment. That one night, to me, was not what a New Year was about..less planning of the future and coming up with resolutions and more about what the previous year had brought. Everything. Its pitfalls, its astonishments..just learning from the lessons and reminiscing of the past.
2010 has proved to be the most changing year of my life. My first year in business, my first year celebrating our wedding anniversary, my first house purchase..lots of firsts! Quite a year it was..a year I look back on in amazement. If you had told me I would be where I am today, on New Year’s Eve 2009..I would call you crazy. Flat out. 2010 was more than I could have ever asked for, from the weddings..to the clients..to the friends I have made, I could not feel more fortunate today at the place I am at in my life.
In celebration of the New Year, and looking back on the past 365 days, I pulled together one frame from every single shoot that occurred in 2010 (with the exception of those that would like their privacy). The compliation takes my breath away..not solely because of the images themselves, but more so because of who I have become because of these images. My growth as a photographer, as a woman, as a human. To all of my clients and supporters, I thank you… and look forward to many more Year In Portrait series.
