Archive for March, 2010

Last week I had the opportunity to attend WPPI, Wedding and Portrait Photographers International, one of the largest photography conventions in the world, and it was such an amazing experience!!! I learned so much, had the chance to meet and mingle with photographers from all over the country, and participated in an ah-ma-zaing charity photoshoot! Quite the whirlwind trip I must say, I am still processing all of the information, but luckily have had the time to edit some of the awesome pictures from the shoot. I am going to break it out into 4 parts, since there are different couples and backdrops, plus otherwise it would be one really really long post!!

First up, Sami and Joey:

It was so amazing to be able to participate in a charity shoot; all proceeds were donated to The Portrait House charity, specifically to benefit Habitat for Humanity.

Sponsors:
Las Vegas Country Club – wonderful venue!
Thomas Meyer – ultrafab decor designer and florist
Couture Bride – the go-to bridal boutique in Las Vegas, stunning gowns!
Justin and Mary Marantz – the wonderful people/photographers behind The Portrait House, who were on-hand for questions and tips
And a special thank you to fellow photographer Laura Marchbanks for putting together the entire shoot, she did such a wonderful job!

In the midst of quite a cold and rainy month, we lucked out as it was simply perfect in Napa!  With the mustard fields in full bloom, there was quite an amazing backdrop for pictures. My favorite from the day…she was actually giving the mustard plant kisses!  So adorable.

If you live in the Bay Area you simply MUST go see the mustard fields before they are gone!  They generally stick around until the end of March.  And of course, if you would like a family or children session it is the perfect place!  I would also love to do an engagement session here, contact for details.
